23 Jun Tú, yo y el horizonte
“Tú, yo y el horizonte” (“You, I, and the horizon”) is the art piece that we Sanserif Creatius have selected from the exhibition “Espot xafar la línia” (loosely meaning “You can cross the line”), which opens its doors today in Museo Valenciano de la Ilustración y de la Modernidad (Valencian Museum of Illustration and Modernity).
In the same way that the horizon draws a line between the sky and the sea, typographical baselines frame the font and turn it into a pause between two different worlds. It is only the eagerness to learn and discover that drives the designer to trespass these imaginary lines and rise up to the sky, like a bird. Or rather plunge into the deepness of the ocean that is the paper. Such traces that move in opposite directions are soulmates that will never meet.
Lovers that are forced to live separately and that will never exist in the same space, even if they share a same origin. Like the sun and the moon. Like the bird and the fish, inhabitants of the same world, but forced to an impossible love.
The exhibition is curated by Begoña Jordá and José Armijo from the Máster en Artes Gráficas (Master Studies in Graphic Arts) in ETS de Ingeniería del Diseño (Higher Technical School of Design Engineering) from university Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV).
